Services
Let’s be serious - life can get pretty messy. It’s full of change, other humans, societal forces, accomplishments we worked for and experiences we didn’t even ask for.
No matter what, my priority is that you feel seen, heard, understood and celebrated.
Individual Therapy
People choose to come to therapy for many different reasons, often having to do with change. Whether you’re experiencing change, or you’re wanting to create change, working alongside someone who is trained to help (and wants to help!) can be incredibly powerful. That being said, therapy is also hard work. It takes time, energy and effort. Sometimes it can involve looking at topics you’ve been avoiding. Sometimes it can bring up difficult emotions. Sometimes (often) it will challenge you to try something new. Even so, it can help you create the life you want to live.
I provide individual therapy to adults in Illinois, both in-person (for those who are vaccinated against COVID-19) and over telehealth.
Therapy approach
Therapy looks different for everyone, depending on what one’s goals are and what works for them.
However, I aim to provide my clients with a mix of empathy and validation, increased insight, and tangible skills. I especially like to utilize and teach Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills that can help you feel more present, communicate more assertively, regulate difficult emotions and change the way you respond to distress. You can read more about my approach to therapy on the “About” page.
Therapy approaches may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Compassion-Focused
Culturally Sensitive
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Feminist Therapy
Mindfulness
Strength-Based
Trauma-Focused
LGBTQIA+
As a queer person, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ folx. Whether you are:
exploring your gender identity or sexual orientation,
experiencing obstacles to feeling/living authentically,
simply wanting an affirming and safe space to explore and address other facets of yourself and your life,
I’m here for you!
